The hall
This set represents a dark circular room, surrounded by seven closed doors. As each door opens, a stream of lights of always different colors emerges (except in the case of the sixth door, where instead the light visibly dims). The symbolic colors of the seven doors are as follows: Blood red Yellowish-red Gold color Greenish-blue White (Stage direction: "in a sparkling stream the flows of light run among blue mountains") Darkness; the main room loses brightness, as if a gloomy shadow had passed over it (The wives) · Silvery (Stage direction: "silver as the moon")
