The Golden Dragon team consists of 60 to 80 athletes. One member is responsible for waving the "Dragon Pearl" staff, leading the Golden Dragon forward and in motion. The dragon dancers follow different commands given by whistle sounds to coordinate various steps, such as fast and slow steps, quick steps, and rapid steps. They grip the upper part of the staff with their right hand and support the lower part with their left hand to hold up the dragon's body, and they skillfully perform actions like "wandering dragon," "coiled dragon" ("dragon pie"), and "threading dragon" according to the occasion and space. In addition to basic movements, dragon dancing also includes other routines, such as "Golden Dragon meandering," "coiled dragon paying respects," "rolling and shedding the skin," "chasing the precious pearl," "breaking through the waves in the sea," and "dragon walking in eight steps."
